First-of-a-kind Sponsorship of St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway Announced at International Builders’ Show

LAS VEGAS - (Business Wire) Today, during a press conference at the 2010 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, household fashion label, Brizo®, announced its position as the first-ever national sponsor of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Dream Home® Giveaway program, one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude nationwide.

The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway was created in 1991 and has since become one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude nationwide, raising more than $175 million for research and patient treatment. As of December 2009, there have been 226 Dream Home winners, and in 2010, the growing program will include 35 Dream Homes across 22 different states.

“We are proud to take on this role as the program’s first national sponsor,” said Brian Nobbe, director of marketing, Brizo. “Our involvement will be multi-faceted and include more than $430,000 annually in in-kind product donations for the Dream Homes as well as local hands-on support from our brand team and through our representative agencies and showrooms. It’s truly a wonderful opportunity for us to get involved – and get our partners involved – with the builders, contractors and other sponsors who generously support the St. Jude program and make a difference in the community around us.”

As part of its brand commitment, being a company that cares is very important to Brizo. That commitment has been demonstrated in the quality of materials sourced, the manufacturing processes and green initiatives protecting our natural resources. Since its inception, the brand has also aligned itself with organizations that positively impact the community, including Habitat for Humanity and Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) and a previous local sponsorship of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway program in Tupelo, MS.

Dream Home values average from $400,000 to $700,000, and builders, designers, plumbers and wholesalers donate their materials/labor to develop the homes. Once completed, the homes are open for free tours and raffle tickets can be purchased for $100 each for a chance to win the home. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to St. Jude for the research and treatment of childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

“Having Brizo’s support as the first national sponsor helps St. Jude in a multitude of ways” said Alan Johnson, St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway program director. “Their contribution at a national level allows us to free up valuable resources at the market level and lend additional effort to promoting the campaigns and cultivating other opportunities. We are also able to capitalize on the relationships that Brizo has with top builders and designer across the country, allowing us to expand our reach and provide more assistance to the hospital and the children it treats.”

The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has treated children from all 50 states and from countries around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance, and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. Furthermore, in its mission to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases, the hospital openly shares its research with the medical and scientific global communities.

“It is inspiring in this economy to encounter companies willing to devote the resources and attention to a cause that falls outside of day-to-day business concerns, such as fighting childhood cancer,” added Johnson. “Brizo is already proving to be an ideal partner. They have not only been generous in providing product and support to the Dream Homes nationwide, but they have also been anxious to join us in building awareness about the St. Jude mission, promoting our campaigns, and opening up new markets.”
